Seasons are caused by the tilt of Earth’s axis, toward or away from the sun, as it revolves around the sun. The tilt impacts the angle of the sun’s rays; the smaller the angle, the less intense the rays. Earth takes about one year (365 days) to revolve around the sun.
When the sun's rays are directly hitting our part of the Earth, we experience summer. When the sun's rays are hitting the other side of the Earth, we experience winter. With autumn and spring, we have to look at the part of the Earth that is facing the sun. When more of the sun's rays are hitting our part of the Earth, it is spring. When more of the sun's rays are hitting away from the Earth, we experience autumn. You can remember the order of our season to help!
